B2B measurement in 2026 has moved from picking one method to stacking several. Survey figures compiled this year report that 81 percent of organizations run attribution, 79 percent run marketing mix models, and 86 percent run incrementality tests. Only 46 percent are reported to use all three, and 40 percent say they completely trust their measurement.
A caution about the 46 percent. With adoption rates of 81, 79, and 86 percent, at least 46 percent of organizations must use all three methods, by simple overlap math. The reported figure sits exactly at that mathematical minimum, which suggests it may be a floor derived from the other numbers and not a separately measured result. The real share could be higher. Either way, this particular statistic should not be treated as a direct survey finding.
What each method is for. A common division of labor puts marketing mix modeling on annual and quarterly budget allocation, including offline channels and brand. Multi-touch attribution handles campaign-level optimization inside digital channels that are already validated. Incrementality testing serves as ground truth, proving causal lift before spend scales. Each answers a different question, so a team running one of them is not measuring less precisely. It is measuring something narrower.
Why B2B makes single-method measurement weak. A B2B deal can involve 50 to 500 interactions across a 3 to 18 month cycle with six to eight buying committee members. A single-touch model credits one of those interactions. Even multi-touch models struggle to link interactions from different people at the same account.
Where to start. One reasonable order for a team with only attribution in place is to add incrementality testing first, because it checks whether the channels attribution credits would have produced those results anyway. MMM is a bigger commitment of data and time. Run one clean holdout test on your largest channel before building anything more elaborate.
