IKEA U.S. has revealed IKEA House Warming, an immersive pop-up experience that invites the public into the heart of the home. IKEA House Warming will feature the brand’s new range of cooking and eating essentials, Gustaf Westman’s limited-edition VINTERFINT collection, and celebrate 40 years of the legendary retailer in the U.S. and of the IKEA meatball worldwide. The immersive pop-up experience will take place from October 2 to October 26.
IKEA House Warming

“With IKEA House Warming, we wanted to go beyond showcasing our delicious food options and highlight how IKEA has a solution for every aspect of cooking and eating. We’re providing an immersive experience in New York City where you can shop, taste and dream the possibilities of creating your own space at home to gather and connect around food.” said Paul Anderson, Home Furnishing and Retail Design Leader at IKEA U.S. “We’re demonstrating how joyful and sustainable your home can be with products that are affordable, accessible, and designed to inspire life in and around the kitchen.”
The IKEA House Warming is a one-of-a-kind pop-up event that offers a Swedish twist on home cooking and dining needs. Guests will enter and embark on a journey from storing and organising, to preparing and cooking, setting and serving, and finally, eating and cleaning. In addition, guests can purchase products directly from the House Warming shop and take their favourite IKEA cooking and eating essentials home.
Guests could participate in activities, including a daily (m)eatball happy hour, a children’s scavenger hunt, a 40th anniversary photo moment, FRAKTA bag personalisation, a kitchen planning studio, and a variety of kitchen demos and tastings that show how easy cooking and eating with IKEA can be.
New Products Offering
In the pop-up and throughout the following year, IKEA will introduce more than 200 new products related to cooking and eating, including dining tables, storage solutions that help prevent food waste, and a more versatile and innovative kitchen range.
Part of those new launches includes the highly anticipated 12-piece Gustaf Westman x VINTERFINT limited-edition collection. The latest collection, Westman’s first-ever design partnership with a company, introduces a playful, sculptural aesthetic to IKEA’s seasonal offerings. The collection reinterprets Swedish holiday traditions with a modern, inclusive, and joyful twist while honouring timeless rituals of gathering, light, and food. Products include porcelain plates and cups, candleholders, lighting, sculptural vases, and the already iconic meatball plate. The VINTERFINT x Gustaf Westman collection will be available for purchase starting October 1.
The New Plant-Based IKEA Meatball

Since its introduction in 1985, IKEA has sold over 1.4 billion meatballs annually. It has become the brand’s most iconic product. The brand expects that number to grow as IKEA celebrates the 40th anniversary of the meatball with plant-based options, the falafel. The IKEA falafel ball will be available within select IKEA U.S. restaurants and bistros starting in January 2026.
The IKEA Housewarming Event, located at 31 E 17th St in Union Square, is open to the public. The event will take place from October 2 to 26, Thursday through Sunday, from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with Saturdays from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM reserved exclusively for IKEA Family members. No entry fees or reservation fees are required for this family-friendly activation. For more information, visit IKEA.us/NYCHouseWarming.
