Here’s what you need to know…

In Business Suite

When uploading a new Reel to Business Suite, there’s a new section during the Share step for “Closed Captions and Translations.” One of the options is to “Translate your voice with Meta AI.”

If you check it, you’ll get two more options:

• Lip syncing
• Review before publishing

Once published or scheduled, you should be able to review the translation a few minutes later.

Still Early

I provide an example at the end of this video. Just insane, right? It even syncs my mouth to the words.

I don’t know Spanish well enough to assess the accuracy, but the most impressive thing is how it mimics my voice to translate my words. The Spanish version feels a little loud and aggressive, but it remains impressive.

A couple of years ago, I used a third-party app called HeyGen to do this exact same thing. At the time, I predicted that this type of translation would eventually be native to these platforms. And here we are.

The video and audio aren’t perfect, but we’ve come a long way. These translations are English to Spanish or Spanish to English for now. Much more will come soon.

Features like this one will make your videos infinitely more global and accessible to more people. Meta has had a similar feature in testing for advertisers. Eventually, you can expect this to be fully available for ads as well.
