Why can’t you create a carousel with Spotify links?
This might be a super niche problem, but I know I’m not the only one. Let me explain…
What I Wanted to Do
I was looking for a way to promote my podcast recently, so I decided on a carousel. I would create a different carousel card for 10 different episodes. Each card would then be linked to the corresponding episode in Spotify.
I was excited about it. The problem? It wouldn’t work.
The Error
I got this error:
Invalid carousel links: At least one of the provided links are not eligible for Carousel.
I checked and rechecked and it didn’t matter what I did. If I used a single image ad with a Spotify link, it worked fine. But for some reason, the carousel was a problem.
Apple Podcasts Works Fine!
For what it’s worth, I get no errors when sending people to Apple Podcasts instead. So that’s what I’m doing.
It just seems super odd, and I assume it’s a bug that isn’t intentional. For those with a podcast or music that you want to promote, keep this in mind.
