Leading natural hydrogen exploration company H2Au has selected Resonates to develop its hydrogen messaging, increase media coverage, and drive awareness among potential partners, off-takers and investors.
H2Au is a privately-owned, geoscience-led clean energy developer, focussed on the exploration and production of natural hydrogen (also known as gold or white hydrogen). H2Au was founded in 2022 by FTSE 100 oil, gas, and mining exploration experts, with decades of experience in energy prospecting and production. Since then, H2Au has forged world class JV partnerships, engaged with blue-chip investors and off-takers, and built a significant global asset portfolio.
Natural hydrogen
The natural (geologic) hydrogen industry is rapidly emerging as a potential low-cost, sustainable alternative to fossil fuels for primary energy users such as transport and manufacturing. Worldwide hydrogen demand is predicted to rise from 97 million megatons a year in 2023, to 265 million megatons in 2050. With more than 15 million acres of portfolio projects already established across three countries, H2Au has emerged as a leading player in an area with huge potential.
H2Au has chosen Resonates for its expertise in brand and messaging in the clean tech sector, along with its extensive track record of creating effective PR and marketing content for clients across the green energy transition. Resonates helps innovators in the energy and clean tech sectors succeed by creating world-class content, delivered through the framework of highly tactical communications strategies.
Owain Jackson, CEO and co-founder of H2Au, said: “H2Au is strategically positioned to tap into some of the world’s largest potential reserves of natural hydrogen, offering industrial, transport and other energy-intensive industries a low-cost, sustainable alternative to traditional energy sources. Resonates’ expertise will be key to raising our profile as we continue to expand our global operations.
“Our industry is new, and awareness of natural hydrogen as a primary fuel is comparatively low. The Resonates team has the experience and expertise to amplify our messaging, communicate our proposition, and help us target key investors and partners.”
Justin Heath, Resonates’ head of corporate affairs, added: “We’re excited to work with this pioneering company in the natural hydrogen industry. The US Geological Survey has estimated that geologic hydrogen reserves represent twice the amount of energy in all the proven natural gas reserves on Earth. Drawing on our expertise in hydrogen and clean energy, we will help keep H2Au at the forefront of an industry predicted to be one of the fastest growing global markets of the next decade.”
