It is no secret that Western Canada has played a big role in Canada’s agriculture sector – and the Brookline team was pleased to help strengthen those ties with the launch of Dairy Innovation West – a collaborative venture from the Western Milk Pool (WMP) to help shape the future of Canada’s dairy industry by advancing innovation and sustainability. The Western Milk Pool is a collaboration made up of BC Dairy, Alberta Milk, SaskMilk, and Dairy Farmers of Manitoba.
Dairy Innovation West is Western Canada’s newest state-of-the-art milk concentration plant facility located in Blackfalds, Alberta. The $75 million project is at the forefront of adopting innovative practices and technologies aimed at reducing emissions, aligning with the industry’s target of achieving net zero by 2050.
The Brookline team has been active in supporting the project over the last three years and was thrilled to lead and execute both the groundbreaking event in 2024 and the Grand Opening this past October. Our team led the event planning and execution from start to finish – including managing invitations and guest lists, coordinating government officials, preparing speaking notes and overseeing all the details between things like catering, entertainment, photography, ribbon cuttings and branded SWAG. In addition, Brookline has supported the client with ongoing stakeholder communications and developing key project updates and messaging for producers throughout the project.
The grand opening celebration welcomed industry partners, government representatives and processers from across Western Canada to the space and marked a major milestone for the dairy sector in Canada.
As the first facility of its kind in Canada, Dairy Innovation West will play a key role in advancing both the economic and environmental sustainability of the dairy industry, and our Brookline team was proud to help shine the spotlight on Canada’s dairy industry and community.
