The New Option

Some advertisers are seeing a new Creative option in the breakdown menu. Select it and you may see Flexible Format.

Flexible Format Creative Breakdown

[NOTE: Meta seems to be experimenting with this Creative breakdown option right now (not to be confused with Dynamic Creative Element). Depending on the ad account, I’m also seeing options for Image Generation and Related Media.]

This new breakdown will allow you to view your data by Flexible Format. It’s not clear if this is a test or an official rollout, but this could be huge.

What is Flexible Format?

Flexible Format allows you to submit up to 10 images or videos for a single ad.

Flexible Ad Format

It’s the replacement for Dynamic Creative when using the Sales or App Promotion objectives.

The Need for Transparency

The problem was the lack of transparency. There’s been no way to view how individual creatives performed. The Dynamic Creative Element breakdown didn’t work.

This should solve that problem.

I still recommend focusing on aggregate results, but this is useful information. It can help inform the types of creatives to use in future ads.
