New features are coming to Threads ads…
In a recent announcement, Meta says there are now 400 million monthly active users on Threads. To celebrate, they’re testing some new ad features.
New Tests
1. Meta is testing 4 by 5 images and videos, moving beyond square. Advertisers can leverage 4 by 5 in many feed placements already, which is good for visibility.
2. Meta is testing carousels now. These were otherwise not eligible in the Threads Feed placement. This allows advertisers to feature multiple product links via images or videos in a scrollable format.
3. Finally, Meta will begin testing Advantage+ catalog ads and app ads soon.
Increasing Inventory
These are welcomed enhancements as ads get more impressions in the Threads feed. While testing started slowly, the inventory has been opening up recently. Additional options like these should help make the placement more effective.
It’ll be interesting to see how users react to ads as they become a more significant part of the feed.
