Have you ever bought or been gifted a kitchen appliance that just sat, unused, for years, until one day you discovered something you wanted to be able to do or try and suddenly that appliance not only had a use for you, it had relevance. Sorting out how and when to use AI in marketing is often the same struggle. We’ve been gifted all of these amazing tools and for many of us, they’re still sitting in their boxes, gathering dust in a cool, dry corner of the pantry, because no one’s showed us what they’re really for.

One of the reasons I launched the AI in Marketing: Unpacked podcast was to help me, and you, learn from incredible experts how they’re using AI today, because there are endless possibilities. From getting help identifying key pieces of information we may have forgot to include on a landing page, to discovering what questions an upcoming guest might never have been asked, we’ve already unearthed all kinds of ideas, with more on the way.

Just like discovering the endless possibilities of a versatile kitchen gadget, leveraging AI in marketing can transform your strategies and operations in ways you might never have imagined. Think about a food processor sitting idle on your countertop. At first, it might seem like just another appliance, but once you know it can make everything from pesto to pizza dough, it becomes indispensable.

Similarly, AI tools can seem complex and intimidating at first glance. But once you see how they can streamline tasks, generate content, and provide deep insights, you’ll wonder how you ever managed without them. Here’s a breakdown of the ways I’m currently using AI to revolutionize my marketing efforts. Hopefully some of these ideas will inspire you to test them out for yourselves.

Content Creation

Using AI tools like ChatGPT to draft initial versions of blog posts, articles, and newsletter content.

Content Editing

Refining and enhancing the quality of drafts with AI, ensuring clarity, coherence, and stylistic consistency.

Generating Video Scripts

Creating engaging and well-structured video scripts from blog posts and other written content, tailored to various platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram Reels.

SEO Optimization

Leveraging AI to incorporate relevant keywords, optimize meta descriptions, and structure content to be search engine-friendly.

Social Media Posts

Crafting optimized and compelling social media posts, including summaries of blog posts, industry news updates, and engaging captions.

Research Assistance

Conducting quick and efficient research on various marketing topics and trends with AI, providing a solid foundation for content and strategy.

Email Drafting

Composing email templates, personalized messages, and newsletters to engage and inform subscribers effectively.

Customer Support

Automating responses for common customer inquiries and providing real-time support through AI-driven chatbots.

Developing Custom GPTs

Building Custom GPTs to perform specific tasks like generating marketing reports, conducting keyword research, and enhancing content strategies.

While you can accomplish many of the above tasks with free versions of ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, or Meta AI, investing $20 a month in a paid version is a godsend. The free versions typically have less memory and capacity to comprehend extensive tasks and history, and often cannot access external links or current information.

For instance, just this morning, a podcast episode came to my attention that promised to share all kinds of ideas. I didn’t have time to listen to the full episode and when I glanced at the show notes and transcript, it wasn’t organized in a way for me to quickly glean what had been discussed. This is where AI, and Magai  specifically, are so helpful. Because I have a paid subscription for Magai, it can utilize ChatGPT-4o to accept the article and podcast link, scan it, and within seconds give me a summary and bulleted list. Moments later, I was using Magai to create a blog post image for an article I was publishing, and then a short while after that I was using Magai to help me promote this week’s podcast by identifying key quotes, snippets, hashtags, and even a LinkedIn newsletter.

AI has truly revolutionized how we approach marketing, from content creation and optimization to customer engagement and market analysis. By incorporating these AI-driven strategies, you can streamline your processes, boost productivity, and make more data-driven decisions in your marketing efforts.
